Whilst researching for my open brief I returned to look at some of Mapplethorpe’s work. An important 20th century American photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe focused on the male body. Some of Mapplethorpe’s most shocking photographs pushed the envelope in regards to what the general public would consider to be art.
